How to fix leather tear on 2007 Prius

    The backseat has a 3x3 area of leather that's torn. Not sure how this got torn but when we bought the car that area was similar to a folded paper so we knew it would tear apart but not this soon.

    The seat is in Grey color and I have uploaded am image.

    How do I fix this? should I just apply a grey colored tape over it like the one from below

    Gorilla Glue Double Thick Adhesive Duct Tape

    When I bought my 2008 Package 6 I noticed a tear in the leather seat. I told the salesman I would only take the car if it was fixed. The detail department made the repair in a matter of minutes You could never tell it had damage. Maybe an option for you...

    There are repair kits available that use a vinyl putty material that is heat cured. There are several colors and pigments that can be mixed together to match your seats. Some even have an assortment of textured cards that can replicate leather grain patterns, etc.

    You might visit an automobile upholstery shop and see what you would be charged for a professional repair. That might result in better cosmetics vs. use of a piece of tape...
