I looked everywhere on this forum and tried a old method before realizing it was for a gen 2 prius lol.

I was planning to disassemble the seatbelt holder itself and wire the proper connections together so it tricks the computer to think its always "on". I am very tired of this stupid noise Toyota decided was a good idea to put in their newer vehicles. My gen 3 prius only has the light which i can deal with, but never the noise. Its not just Toyota, it seems all newer cars have these ridiculous safety features i never asked for, nor do i have the option to easily disable it in the settings it seems.

And hold your witty comments about "buckle up, no more chime", im not in the mood for it. The problem with the world today is everyone believes they have control over how others can live their lives. If i want to die while not wearing a seatbelt, that should be my decision that i get to make. Sometimes i wear it, sometimes i dont, but thats irrelevent to this post.

I want to know if there is a legitimate way to disable it before i waste my afternoon bruteforcing it with my electrical and mechanical skills.

hope there's an answer. they've doubled the length of time on our new hycam form the 2013. it drives me to distraction.
i couldn't even find a place to adjust the volume. maybe an obd would have access...

From the factory, your Gen 3 did have a seatbelt chime too. It is configurable, somebody had to change it from the default ON to the optional OFF.

On my 2010, I used a ScanGauge to turn off the backup beeper myself, there was a similar code to change the seatbelt chime too, though I didn't use it. For my 2012, the dealer handed me a configuration sheet that I could mark up and they would change. I picked the same settings as on the previous car, and they applied them to this 2012 before delivery.

I don't know if Toyota allowed for similar setting changes in Gen 4.
