I live on Long Island in New York. I just can't pick the color for my new Prius. It is between the white, red, mica or seaside. The problem is that I can't see a bunch of the cars in one setting as the dealers just don't have them "lying around". Any suggestions?

Aw....that's so easy! Just get red. Absolutely. No brainer. Best choice.

    There's the Silver Pine Mica.

I'd look around here for pictures of each color. :)

Ah, yes . . . agreed. But unfortunately for them, the Prius no longer comes in Salsa Red. :p

Clearly magnetic grey is the tie breaker, or you could hold out and import a pink Japanese 10th anniversary model.

Picking a color is easy. Here's a flowchart:

    what do you mean???

I know everyone has their favorite. What I am looking for if anybody has a suggestion where I could see a number of the cars in one setting so I could decide the color.

If you don't mind flying out to Porland, OR tomorrow, our HSD (Hybrid Synergy Drive) Meetup group will be getting together. I cannot make it this time, but most the colors are usually represented. Also, on the 4th of July, there may be a Prius Colors Parade in Lake Oswego near Portland. You could take in the Fort Vancouver largest fireworks display west of the Mississippi.

If you don't want to travel, the picutures are true to life. My Silver Pine Mica is way at the back of the first picture, and I wasn't able to make it to the May meeting, so SPM was not represented.

Stev0, sorry to point out your error, but the original question was how to pick out a Prius color, not the color for your Cat Avitar. Also, in the flowchart, you misspelled "cat". It is "cat" not "car".

The decision box should state "Is cat Magnetic Gray?"

It is hard to tell though, are the cat's eyes Silver Pine Mica?

Well......I guess those who are color blind and can't appreciate the superiority of red (especially Salsa Red) have to have SOMETHING on their cars! [ducking and running for cover.....]

That is effin awesome! I have yet to get my prius.. I'm torn between the magnetic gray and the blue one.. I thought the driftwood pearl would be like the reall dark browns they have on camrys but looking at the pic, it doesn't lookk that way =/ i would have wanted a really dark brown, but it looks champagne..

I think the only colors I would NOT consider buying are white and driftwood pearl. The rest I think are really nice. My personal favs are Barcelona Red and Magnetic Gray. Mine is Barcelona Red, since the wife was way more into the red than any other.

Here are Seaside Pearl (blue) and Silver Pine Mica (light green) side-by-side:

and don't forget, certain exterior colors will look good with the dark gray interior and other will look better with the bisque interior, so INTERIOR color choice is also important, too:

Everyone has their favorite. I would get a lighter color. Red cars are higher profile and are prone to get tickets; also more susceptable to sun damage/fading. Black looks really great for 3.5 seconds after a wash. Mine blends, it's the same color as dirt here.

Back in 1976 when I had a Triumph TR-7 ("the Wedge") it was RED !! Seems that I must have got stopped at least every other day by a cop, for just any 'ole reason..... they checked my license and registration, took a quick look inside (from the outside of the vehicle) while they also took a few "sniffs" (for pot or something) then just let me go. It got to be quite annoying, so I am convinced that RED vehicles "flag" a driver as being "aggressive" even though they probably aren't  !!
Perhaps the fact I had long hair didn't help either.......[attachmentid=8952]
