    I doubt it.

In Canadian Prius there is no maintenance light, problem solved. Similarly: I was reading through a thread on problems with the infotainment system (on some third gen's, all fourth gen's), our 2010 doesn't have that either, another problem solved. And then there's the problem of Tire Pressure Monitor System sensors dying: just let them die, yet another problem solved.

Thank you! Clicked “Trip A” on the steering wheel, (had the “P” for park already on). Pushed “power” button to turn car off. Then pushed the brake down, And held down “km/mph” to the left of the dash volume dial. Pushed the “power” button w brake pedal down and YES. Loaded the “maintenance required” Reset! I have synthetic oil in this gen 3 2014 Prius, so only 10k for oil change I need, Or even 15k if you drive peaceful like me. <3

Another joy I found was you can dry clothes (while driving even) on the engine (like socks or damp shorts), even synthetic ones, since it doesn’t even get that hot.

I change my 2010 Prius every 12k to 15k miles. Once I forgot and low oil light came on as I was turning. Always came on whenever I made a “sharp” left turn. Took it to a mechanic last month to get wheel bearings changed in the front. Car still drives well. Hopefully I can drive for another 25k and I will be happy.

I’ve read this thread and many others and am still puzzled with our 2014 Two. Got the oil changed, followed instructions to reset and still no luck. It’s bothering me more than it should. Any quirks or change in procedure for a ‘14?

I’ve tried it so many times it’s embarrassing. There seems to be so much conflicting info about whether your foot should be on the brake, holding the start button, tapping it twice, once, doing a rain dance etc.

You do NOT need to push the Brake Pedal. Just press the power button twice and it will do it...

OK. I think I blew it, but I want to be sure. After my entertainment system failed in my 2012 Prius, I replaced it with an aftermarket Kenwood system - much better sounding than the factory system (purchased one of the High Resolution certified models). As I was considering whether to spend the extra money to reenable the steering wheel controls, I decided against it; unfortunately, I forgot about the maintenance alert remaining active after a while. Nonetheless, I am stuck now with the maintenance alert active always. My question before I spend the extra coin to get the steering wheel controls reenabled, is there a way to clear or disable the maintenance required alert without the steering wheel controls?

I just want to ask if there is a way to show up how many km remain until next oil change?

This only requires use of the "POWER" button and the MPH/kmh button. Neither are on the steering wheel.

Nope. Just do like we've been doing forever. I keep a maintenance log. But the car will give you advanced notice by flashing the maintenance indicator in plenty of time for you to be ready. In the US, it's 500 miles before the indicator comes on solid instead of flashing.

I also keep a maintanance log, but the owner before me, did not...
In this case, I don't want to start winter without being sure that next change is far enough...

Oops. I forgot that in the Gen 3 the trip meter selection is on the steering wheel.

It does sound like you need a new clock spring. I've replaced one on a Gen 2 with a used one. It wasn't hard. If the clock spring is bad, you'll be wise to change it asap since you don't know if the air bag will work as it is.

My "Maintenace Required" warning has been coming on every 5000 miles and I reset it. It would typically come on when I start the car and then go out after 15 seconds or so. I recently crossed the 150,000 mile mark and this time it came on and stayed on, the whole time I was driving, until I reset it. I never noticed that before. It blocked my view of the hybrid system display.

Does anyone know if crossing the 150,000 mark has a different affect on the warning light, or am I getting dementia.

The maintenance light comes on early at a 4.5k mile interval and turns off after starting. But if you let it get past a 5k interval without resetting it, the maintenance light stays on.
