When you get done reading all this, which is overwhelmingly negative toward the author, his article, CNW research and the London Tabloid that originally posted this smear job about a 100 year old Nickel mine. The author who admits "Hell, I threw the paper together in 1/2 hour of being bored. I was just having fun lol." and is reportedly a 21 year old 1969 Mercury Cougar owner/enthusiast (in 2007 no less!). You might think there is an hidden agenda behind this joy ride with the facts.

Oh, and please tell your brother he needs to recycle his eating untensils to avoid being a hipocrit, since Stainless Steel is the major use of Nickel from this plant, and all Nickel production worldwide. The Prius nickel being refined within the last 10 years was not part of the ecological damage, and is probably helping to pay for the ecological recovery of Sudbury, as detailed in:

Any chance we can get an entry for this on Snopes.com? Actually, come to think of it, there are quite a few Prius "urban legends" that could use the Snopes treatment. Not that that will stop the trolls but it would be convenient place to collect all the various rebuttals.

Its often the same website people that makes Hummer vs prius "facts articles" gets their facts.....

my "facts" for a hummer or a simmilar SUV will be :

"The SUV is the successor to the SUC, or Small Uni-Cycle. It claims to be the first hybrid vehicle, running on both petrol and the blood of patriots"

"The SUV is the latest installment in a long line of motor vehicles originally developed as penis replacements"

"Owners of SUV's would have you believe that this TLA stands for "sport-utility vehicle", but it is unclear exactly which sport they could possibly be referring to"
