Does anyone happen to know what the "NEO" and "GO" lines do that run between the Engine ECM and the HV ECU?

I know it has been two years since this thread was started but I find this thread interesting. From the little info available it appears that NEO is the crankshaft speed and GO is the camshaft speed. Whilst the ICE is not running the NEO signal gives an indication that the ICE is spinning, hence the NEO signal may indicate at what speed the ICE is spinning at as the ICE is not firing.

I also gather that these two signals are used in inspection mode, possibly to check the timing between the two signals.

According to WIKIpedia the timing between the camshaft and the crankshaft is critical.

So after two years is anybody any the wiser as to why the HV ECU would need these two signals NEO and GO.
