You probably accidentally turn the screen off.

I wish it was turned off. hold the display button and nothing... no settings menu. when i talked to the service dept yesterday i got the feeling this isn't the first time they have heard about this. I called to make sure i wasn't missing a fuse somewhere and he said it wasn't a fuse and and that i needed to bring it in. thanks for any info

It's the dimmer dial, not a button. They're asking to make sure you didn't turn it down by accident.

If you use the funcitons on your steering wheel you can enable the setting to turn off the hybrid display.

Yes, but if you have the headlights on and the dimmer switch all the way down you're not going to be able to see anything regardless of that button.

Also check for any paper, receipt, etc. that fell into the dash. That might be blocking the display.

I think you discovered the "Secret Mode"....EV, ECO, POWER,-normal- and "Flyin Blind"!

Hey, it's all under warranty...so whether it's simply something to learn about the system or you need repair...it's all good.

It's not the dimmer switch otherwise i wouldn't be able to see my speedometer, likewise with paper covering the projection screen. The dealer couldn't figure it out today after 6 hrs. They have to talk to somebody back east (who couldn't get to work today because of all the snow) to start a case. Will take it back monday and see what happens. Will keep posting updates and any info is appreciated!

It hasn't happened a lot but we have had several posts going back to the first Gen3 cars. It has usually been the right half of the display (MID) that goes but some have lost the left part where the speedometer is as well.

Thanks for the info. I haven't been able to find much on the subject so it must be pretty rare. Maybe i should try the lotto!

The right side of the MFD went off on my 2010 Prius last week and the dealer replaced it with a new one. It seems there are a handful of this issue on 2010 Prius model.

Looks like I will finally get the screen replaced tomorrow. :) Driving without the hybrid display takes out alot of the fun!

Well, that happened to me when my 12volt battery was going down, but after I replaced the battery and drove it for a little bit, the display came right back after I turned on
