Hybrids--Don't buy the hype!

    Yeah well there's a lot of misinformation on that thread simply because they're diesel enthusiasts in the same way we are hybrid enthusiasts.

    And before we lost all of the posts since august, we had already debunked most of the stuff in that article too here.

    We can start that all again I suppose.

    First thing. They mention diesels as a good alternative to hybrids, but remember that at least two hybrids today qualify for AT-PZEV. Hybrids, when done right, are very clean.

    Diesels... they've still got to work on that.

    If it's just your pocketbook that you're worried about, then by all means consider diesel. You might get better performance from a diesel as well. But if you are thinking about the environment, Diesels are dirtier than conventional gasoline burners.

    Typical of what you'd expect on a Diesel forum discussing hybrids, altho they do make a few good points. And it's no worse than what you'd expect on a hybrid form discussing Diesels.
