So my black Prius may even be in tomorrow and I am having 2nd thoughts about getting black now. I FINALLY saw the Barcelona Red in person yesterday real quickly on the street and from what I saw, I am in love! :D It's really beautiful! On my way home today from Christmas marketing, I saw another black Prius that of course was dirty and it definitely doesn't look too hot when it's dirty. Of course no car does, but especially when you have black. Ahh I am confused

yeah, if you don't have the time to keep it clean, black isn't good.

do what makes you happy :)

I've got a red one coming in two weeks. Personally, I wouldn't get the black. It soaks up all the sun rays and is a bear to keep clean.

My first choice was the white until I saw the red. :) I was sold.

We have a white Sienna, it's sooooo dirty in winter. As for our Prius, we jumped on the first one available...would have loved to get red. See what white looks like with mud and salt...it's less noticable on silver

I gotta check out the red then. I was planning to go with black too. All the ones coming in to Toyota though are boring colors like tan and stuff. I have to ask if they have any red ones coming in I can view.

Your getting Package #8. You lucky duck you! B)

I see tons of red colors on the road I don't like... but if the prius looks like the pictures in any way or better... it looks like a little jewel to me!.... some other colors just look like paint.

Red is a funny color.... any color at all really enhances a picture or photograph, but have you noticed what a bright red does to the world around it when viewing a photogragh?.. It brings it to life!

Many times the best way to liven up a picture is to make sure the subject has a little red.

Red would increase your insurance rate a bit. I don't know about the resale value though.

    Black on a car? It's not a color, it's a HOBBY!

I wouldn't buy a black car. It's too hard to keep clean.

To the OP, do you understand the tax situation now? Unless you face AMT, you are most likely to be FAR better off waiting to take delivery on or after 1/1/06.

I don't recall them ever asking what color my car is?
And what happens if you say black and then get a paint job along the way?

I saw my first Barcelona yesterday. Someone else on PC had described it as almost "candy apple". I disagree. Paints that can be described as that are (I think) enamels. This was a deeper (but not as much as salsa) red. Very nice, though I wouldn't own a red one. I already have a candy apple '97 Paseo convertible. :)

I think that burgundy cars can look very brown when they are dirty, and I don't like brown at all. When they are clean they look fantastic (as with any color). Red is brighter than burgundy though. I have owned two bright red cars (one was a Corvette) in my life and I really loved the color. I haven't seen the new 2006 red in person yet. Is it more red than burgundy?

I agree.. red is not too pretty when dirty, but if sparkling clean, it looks fabulous!... I live in an area where it rains constantly "it feels like" and cars are tough to keep clean.. .but since all cars look dirty to me when they're dirty, I'm still picking red.

I like the look of a clean and shinny black car with dark tinted windows (as dark as the state will allow). Black is a little harder to keep looking good, but just about all colors (except maybe Driftwood Pearl) begins to look bad if not washed/maintained often.

I have a black 2006 with package #8 that should (better) arrive in early February......... (Is it February yet?) I have not second guessed my color choice and look forward to taking receipt. :)
