Forgive me if you already knew about this, but I found a cool feature on my Prius last night. I went out to my garage last night to get a CD out of my car (Danny knows how many CDs there are in my car :). I went to open the door using the Smart Entry and the interior light came on before I touched the door handle! It sensed that I was near the car with the key and like Motel 8 it turned the light on for me. I thought that was so cool and had no clue that it worked that way.

Yes. If you look at the Front and Rear Dome Lights, there is a switch by each.

You can choose independently which, if either, turns on when you approach.

Most, if not all dome lights have a "door" setting. Part of the SE/SS feature is that when the FOB is detected nearby, it starts up the lighting.

Toyota can program the duration of the lighting with a miniscanner.
