I hate racoons!

I've never replaced a bumper and fender on a raccoon. Was he a late model one?

That must have been some BIG suicidal racoon. Are you sure it wasn't a deer?

 

bumper is around 300 or 400 (from my experience of having it replaced)

I imagine the racoon hates you some what more than you hate him/her. We have suicidal kangaroos and emus, what I'd give to just have racoons to dodge.

It should be covered under the Comprehensive section of your auto policy. Also, animal hits do not normally impact the renewal or premium charge decision for the policy, so there should be no hesitance on your part to request coverage for the hit.

No, you refer to the spelling for a donkey type animal, we spell it the english way with an A at the start an E on the end and RS in the middle. It's the right way to spell it. Think of the sound a pirate snake might make. Arrrr SSSSSe but a little shorter.

The rear bumper cover is mostly hollow and made from a black thermal plastic. When I backed into a post, my repair came in at about $1,500 but that included fixing the quarter panel, tail light and paint:

Ah. I would consider your body part spelling a slang term. Not that you need a sling for your slang. A collloquialism or area dialect.

Here the donkey and the body part are equivalent in spelling since so many are the south end of a horse going north, or a horse's A**.

I believe it... 'coons can get huge, and can weigh like 30 lbs.

I hit a truck tire tread on the freeway, and it wiped out the lower grill, foglight and bumper, and slapped the right front door denting it. $1300 later it was fixed. New bumper, grill, fog light and repaint door. Comprehensive - $500 deductable, but $1300 total. Good luck. This tire tread was about the size of a 6' gator, never hit a racoon, though. I saw one in my neighborhood, that looked as big as a small bear. Be careful out there, humans, and critters alike.

Raccoons can carry rabies, which makes things even worse. Where they do not have natural predators, raccoons can become very aggressive toward even humans.

 

What a way to go. Can you get a set of PC raccoon warning whistles? I've always used the deer ones on prevoius cars, but no good place to put them on a Pri.
