I just looked on Ebay for an after market catalytic converter

Are these Ebay catalytic converters the same quality?

Another good one is the Walker 93251.

I got a magna-flow in California for my 2005 in 2019 it didn’t pass the inspection because nothing but $2000 OEM is acceptable. I did test it and it does perform a little bit better than the OEM. I found this out because I ran both. The magnaflow has more titanium and a larger surface area and heat shield. Allowing a thorough burn of any uncombusted hydrocarbons.
So I keep a mid section OEM in the garage just for inspections (I rent it out too $$), and I run the magnaflow. It is illegal to “modify” your exaust $12,000 per offense. So you won’t find anyone willing to install it in this state.

Ha, what will you do if the thieves happen to hit up your cat from the renter?

One should be able to install the renter, drive to the smog shop, pass and change back in the same day. That would be the smart thing to do.

565 vs. 2000, that's a big difference. Plus then the dirt bags get the cheap cat and you get the $$$ for a new one. How did you get one? I believe they wont ship to California? Also what did you use for the back half of the pipe, past the cats?

Not likely, they come by I help them make the swap and pass their test and then we swap it back. And you know how a thief feels when they go to steel a $2k Cat and find a $200 one instead!!! It’s cheaper than the Antitheft device too, isn’t it?

I have out of state friends. You can have it delivered to a Walgreens drop box over a nearby border and go get it.

I wonder if you could just call and make an appointment with an out of state mechanic and ship it to him?

    As quiet as stock.

Like most after market cats the donut was half the size as the oem and unusable the bolts were wrong too. So if they stole the donut too you will need a new one factory donut pic of the part number.
    $86.

You may need an o2 sensor too as they take that also. Don't have the part number for that.
