I just spent an hour in Traffic Jam Mode

    I learned that it's also hands-free. You don't need to keep your hands on the wheel.
    Just to keep from being bored, I was looking out for out of province license plates. I saw 2 B.C. plates, but no American ones, out at least a thousand.

    But I did see one motorhome with Florida plates a little further down the road.

    Very untypical around here.

    can you register in florida if you own property there? my parents used to do that for cheap insurance, 45 years ago

    You would need to tell your insurance company you were driving it elsewhere. Otherwise, if they discovered it, your insurance would likely be invalidated.

    I don't have a clue. I was commenting on the dearth of American license plates on the road here.
