I find these as I look for Prius accidents but this time I tried a different approach on the comment.

The NHTSA report is never identified by specifics so I always add the document identifier, DOT HS 811 204, and invite folks to download it. I also reference table 6a, the most damning and table 3 but I've always had trouble describing how percentages were abused, a math trick in the report. So this time I wrote:

One thing I've noticed is these hybrids are hazardous claims are nearly universally dismissed in the follow-up comments. There is no popular support for "Bell the Hybrid." That is why offering the facts and data enables informed opposition. I have no idea if it works but it is better than the alternative.
