So, my wife and I picked up a 2005 Prius with Package 6 - y'know, the fully loaded one. Bluetooth, voice-activated stuff, hi-intensity headlights, premium JBL 6-disc changer. Side-curtain air bags front-and-back. The works. Had 19,800 on it -- and the Carfax came back totally clean.

The dealer asked $19,995... and the salesman also said "We NEVER get these things. This is like a diamond in the rough for us. I don't even know all the features it has."

Kelly Blue Book put it at $25,700 (I looked this up after we'd purchased it, since we knew it was a deal anyway).

We got $5,000 for our trade ('03 Taurus that got crappy mileage).

AFTER taxes, title, and license fees it was a touch over $16k.

    Neat!

    Thanks for the welcome!

And, I'm loving the car already. Learning to glide/drive the car has been an interesting experience.

I've managed 45-point-something MPG average so far.

Welcome to PriusChat, OwenKealy! Congratulations on a good price for a great car! While the Taurus was "for us", the Prius will "free us" from dependence on foreign oil and high gas prices. Smart move!
