I just got the new insurance statistics about my new Prius in the mail today. I have a 2008 1224 pkg 2. The insurance says I have a 2008 Prius/Touring hatchback. Is there such a thing as a 1224 Touring? I think they might be charging more than they should since mine isn't a Touring. I've double checked the VIN on all paperwork and the car itself. Any advice??
    :(

Call your agent. If it's a mistake, they'll correct it.

1220 is the "base" (no thrills, no frills)
1224 is the "standard" model (the one you can put packages on)
    1226 is the touring edition

If they don't believe you refer them to Toyota's web site.....

I would bet you find that there is no real difference in rates, Prius/Touring might just be how their rate card calls both models. Both models are the same to most insurance companies, its the same car. Might be a difference, but I doubt it will be much of a rate change, if at all.
