    The point I was really trying to get at was this:

    "Who was your first ancestor? New DNA studies show that all humans descended from an African ancestor who lived only 60,000 years ago. Uncover the specific paths that led from him to you - the ultimate human history, as written in our genes."

    This project National Geography is working on.... if you choose to participate (I think for $100)... they can tell you your decendents down to 60k years ago. It comes with a great DVD that shows the path of humans from Africa to around the world in 60k years.

    BTW about my previous post in case someone wonders what the heck?. When paleontologists discovered the skeleton of 'Lucy' there reason for naming her a such was simply because someone had Beatles tape around playing 'Lucy in the sky with the diamonds' and our grandest grandmammy became 'Lucy'
