    Hello Folks,

First time EV buyer here. I am thinking of a Prius Plug-in base lease - for the following reasons:
Got a 3 year emp. contract that needs me to travel on the 101 about 200 miles/week.
This will not be extended or renewed (blah blah govt. deal).
Need a Green sticker and a very Reliable Car that will not cause me any issues.

So thinking of going for a Plug-in Lease & at the end of 3 years I can take a call - do I keep it or not.

The best deals I am getting (Bay area and nearby) are
    3299 down & 299 for 36mo 12k miles or
    3999 with 238 for 36mo 12k miles.
All figures are excluding tax for the Plug-in base model (silver/blue/grey).
Residuals are 161XX and there abouts.

Any advice for a Newbie ?

Don't be in too much of a hurry! Have you thought of used? I bought the ChuggyPig (my 2009 Gen II (88k on odometer) touring package, dealer maintained for ~$13k (before financing & ext. warranty)). I'm averaging ~56 mpg for the 18 months I've had it! Gorgeous car, I really love it, and it's a Toyota so it will be extremely reliable (my old '93 Corolla DX Wagon had 292k on odometer before the rocker-panels failed State Inspection, but the motor & transmission (5-speed) still ran beautifully!) Do the sums, and remember, you pays your money, and you takes your choice! - hope this helps -

    Thanks Wil & Bisco.

    Wil,

I have been going back and forth on buying pre-owned vs leasing. Trying to buy some peace of mind with a brand new Lease (enough other things to worry about - me being the worrying kind :( )

    Bisco,

Just reached out to Dianne, thanks for the Tip. I am liking the second one as well but it still feels high.

    JC,

Interesting price - any particular dealers I should look at?
