I live in So. New Hampshire and am looking for an independent repair shop to service my 2005 Prius. I want to install a used inverter/converter unit in the car instead of paying $4,500 for a new one at the dealership.
Your recommendations are appreciated! Thank you.

Sorry can't help you but Welcome to PC!

Love NH! Have brother in law in Dover (Dova lol). We go there all the time. I am from Vt.

Your on the right track. Dealer will kill you.
Hope I can be of more service to you in the future. Inverter is pretty easy. Many DIY's on here. Remove 12 volt neg. Remove wiper cowling.
Drain I coolant. Disc. orange battery safety plug. Disconnect coolant hoses. Label an disconnect about 9 plugs.Unbolt the orange battery input. Unbolt orange 3 phase to mg. Unbolt Inverter.
About 4 hours for rookie. Any mechanic can do it.

The number one post we see about this is after its all done the car won't go into ready.
Because 9 out of 10 times they don 't have the orange safety switch installed correctly back in the hybrid battery pack.
It slides up and then has to be locked. Seems to get everyone.
