After having my car in the workshop for troubleshooting, they stated that the error code pointed to dampers and I guess that they are sucked in after googling a bit, apparently moisture and condensation can form there which can freeze on a sensor which then gives engine light and error code, which usually goes away fairly quickly apparently. They just needed to reset the fault code. So now I know for the next time, if it were to happen again, that it's just a matter of resetting the code myself. I'm thinking about how the toyota with the air heat pump works, if that air goes through the damper and the intake where I might have got the ice plug? If not, maybe I should sometimes run the engine on fuel more during the winter to "warm it up" a bit. I have driven to 99% EL since I bought the car in June. However, it's a bit strange because it hasn't been that cold the last few days. Plus degrees outside until yesterday and then it was -2. I would have understood it more if they had been very cold outside. But but.
And today when I drove the car 2km to a parking lot to meet the tow truck, the error text went out and only the engine light went out. So by then they had probably already thawed and only the error code that triggered the light to continue to shine. Sad only with the Relax guarantee that troubleshooting is not included but you have to pay for them yourself.

I wish I'd used the engine more in the winter when it was new. But I was too interested in finding out how everything worked in EV mode, for 2 years (winters). Using the engine for heat when the car is cold soaked is IMO one of the best ways to extend the EV lifetime (it hurts the EV stats big time) but the EV stats may catch up over the long haul.
Another way to work the system when you get moisture in the HAVC (ice on the inside lower half of the windshield / windscreen above the defroster vents over night while parked ) is to use Power Mode more often. The reason is ( I'm told and it seems to make sense to me ) is that in power mode the HVAC systems don't cycle on and off as much as they do when in ECO and NORMAL mode.
It worked for me, took a day or two of driving in Power Mode before it was obvious to me. You might want to give it a try too.

The grill shutters aren't a 100% block. There will be some airflow to the radiators all the time.
