    I just found this Toyota site. It's very interesting with alot of information regarding production, shipping, history, etc. It's aimed toward younger users but very useful.

    Actually it is an interesting page thanks for sharing... Wow, that Panama Canal must be a bitch to get through lol Unless the huge difference in time they are talking about is for cars that are railed across the US.

    Perhaps they mean 12 days to the West Coast and 13-18 more to the East?

    It's almost 5000mi from Los Angeles to the Panama Canal, then almost 3000 from there to Washington DC. That's assuming one can sail between Cuba and Haiti (a 50-mile gap), which slices off lots of mileage.

    Japan to Los Angeles is about 8700mi.

    So it's about as far from Japan to LA as from LA to DC.
