I have a 2005 Prius that had been previously wrecked. It sustained some front end damage and apparently broke/damaged the top fitting of the coolant to the inverter fitting. There is a small weep, no puddles under the vehicle, but you can see that pink coolant has leaked from the replacement fitting, and a finger swipe under the fitting comes out wet. The dealer says a new inverter should fix the problem, at a cost of $4,000. Could stop-leak be added to the coolant system of the inverter without permanently harming something?

    Hi Rick,

If an inverter replacement is the only solution for the leak, then I suggest you purchase a salvage unit rather than a new one. I do not suggest use of stop leak as that is likely to clog up the inverter cooling channels.
