I have a 2008 Prius pkg 6? (everything but leather. It has the factory JBL system with an mp3 aux port built into the console.

My question is, what type of cable do I need to use my IPod? Will it fgive me controls and display usage on the MFD? Is the sound quality good?

It has factory nav vbut no sat radio. The stereo has sat1 & sat2 buttons.

    Thanks,

    Jim

    Hi Jim

My question is, what type of cable do I need to use my IPod?
either a cable with mini rca ends on each end or there are cables that hook to the docking connector on one end and have a mini rca on the other (the sound quality will be a little better since it is using the docking connector).

Will it fgive me controls and display usage on the MFD?
    No

    Is the sound quality good?
    Yes, it sounds fine.

There are kits to buy and install that allow you to use the steering wheels controls to advance the track etc and display some info on the MFD. If you do a search in this forum you will see references to DICE, VAIS, and the Toyota Interface kit.

    Hope that helps
