I'm not sure it's the right sub-forum to ask, mods please move if needed.

My driver's side mirror is dangling around after a minor accident and I want to try to replace it. Went to the dealer to check the price and got a quote for around $390 after tax for the mirror assembly and the painted cover : $312 + $55 (painted cover) + Tax if I remember correctly. They also told me they will charge $115 + Tax for labor. I just want to know that it's easy to do it my self or not. There are some wires in there but I hope it's not a big deal. Any suggestion?

They are easy to install. If your cover is not broken, you can possibly reuse it. Just replace the mirror and housing

    Thanks for your reply!

The cover is broken and luckily they have it painted with the color code of any car, mine is Super White.

I just read other thread and realize my C4 has heated mirrors: is it gonna make it more complicated?

That could be why they were going to charge you so much for the part...I guess it's pretty expensive for oem auto-heated mirror part

I believe they are all heated, won't be able to find one that's not heated. Installation is the same, just a couple screws/bolts that hold it in place and a plug in harness. Very easy

do you want only the glass part? or the entire mirror housing? I have an extra mirror glass laying around, you can have it.

    Thanks for your offer!

But the glass is not broken, only the housing and the white plastic cover. Everything is still working like flasher, power mirror, heated, ... just have to use duct tape to attach to the car.

You might be able to find everything you need from autobeyours.com They specialize in used GenII parts. they should have your mirror and the white cover.
