Is it normal?,Prius jerks/jumps when the gas engine starts,after driving in electric mode?

    There is a bit of a jolt. More so with your Gen 2 than in a Gen 3. I imagine Gen 4 is even smoother.

    In a Gen 2, yeah. I remember when our 2005 was new and when it shut down, it would shake the whole car. It got smoother after a couple thousand km and then rougher when it aged (like.. year 8 or 9 onwards)

    Sudden prods to the accelerator can make it worse/more noticeable. And also wear & tear as it ages.

    My Gen 3 engine start/stop was smoooooth when it was new. I've noticed a bit of vibration now that it's 9 years old (well it started around year 7 or 8).
