i just bought a new rear hub bearing online and it has a catch as you turn it by hand. the online dealer says its normal for many of them to do this. its a skf brand. my chrysler mechanic friend says its not normal. what do you all think?

I've never had a good bearing catch as you described. Kind of defeats the whole purpose of having bearings in there to begin with.

If the dealer won't give you satisfaction I would contact SKF.
