When the time comes to fill my tank I notice the cap is always loose when I remove it. I always give the cap three clicks when tightening it. Why is it loose when I want to add fuel? Hal

hmmm. .mine doesn't do that. I thought it would light up the dash if the cap wasn't sealed.

    It shouldn't be loose.

Is it the original cap? It should only click once when tight and should not loosen.

Yes it is original. The car only has 20,000 kilometers on it. No effort what so ever to remove it. No lights coming on! I give it three clicks when I put it on. I guess I will check after a few hundred kilometers. Hal

    1. I suggest that you take a look at the O-ring which seals the gas cap, to make sure it is not damaged.

    2. It is only necessary to turn the gas cap to one click when tightening it.

    3. If the check engine light does not come on, then no worries.

I kinda thought the same thing about my cap. No warning lights.
