Does anyone here know whether the Toyota Part No. indicating on my invoice, C0009-M5W20-06, a Full Synthetic or Blended Synthetic oil? If it is the blended synthetic, then I got ripped off big time by the dealer because I paid twice the amount than the regular oil change.

If they put it in your 2010 Prius, they did not follow the Toyota recommendation, it was supposed to be 0w20, not 5w20

My invoice shows 4 qts. of P/N 00067 0W20 and 1 00067*5* Valvoline Synpower, the filer and gasket.

This is the second time I had my oil changed with the synthetic. I am at almost 10,000 miles and the "Maintenance Required" light came on every time I started the car so I took it in for this second change.

Now I get a letter from Toyota saying that they have determined the longevity of the synthetic oil to be 10,000 miles!!!! So I just paid $67.07 for nothing Toyota should have reset the alert for 10,000 miles when they put in synthetic at 5,000 miles or better yet, since it started with synthetic oil The first alert should not have come until 10,000!

I wanted a sexy car but I did not expect to get screwed by Toyota!

Thanks, JimboPalmer and mgb4tim for your response.
For the record, I am posting a picture from the Prius 2010 Owner's Manual, Page 560. Toyota specifies both 0w20 or 5w20 can be used. Therefore, if the oil my dealer put in is 5w20, it is still within the official specification. The only dispute I had with them was that I specifically asked the use of 0w20 but they ignored my request and put in 5w20. If it is the full synthetic 5w20 they put in, I'd let them get away this time. However, if it is the regular blended 5w20, I'd ask to drain it and refill with full synthetic because that's what I paid for.

Why do you bother going back to shady places like that?

You buy a $23K car, now wants to save $50? I would much rather pay $50 now and get better treatment. I have a free lifetime oil change from my dealer, but I just skipped them because they don't do a very good job.

But..but...... being able to save (eg. by saving on fuel consumption) is one of the reasons we bought the Prius. May be you have a point here.

Repairs cost way more than a $50 oil change. Think of it this way. If they screw this up, how many other jobs can they screw up?

I saw the US 2010 Owner's Manual pdf and it only mentions 0W20.
Are there any revisions? Or, does it differ between the CA and US models?

I recently learned that Prius US manual says 0w20 only but Canadian manual says "0w20 preferred but if it is not available, 5w20 is acceptable".
