I have a Prius C. It is still under warranty so I may take it back to the dealer. The reason is sometimes when I shift it into gear I have to giggle/play with the shifter for the lights on the gated shifter to light up. Anyone have this issue? Other then this car has been great.

I don't have a Prius c, but IMO if you have an under warranty new vehicle and any concern, take it to the dealer. At least get the problem or your concern documented.

That's the nice thing about having a new vehicle warranty.

The contact or the switches probably need to be adjusted or the light bulb might even be just loose.

I gather that the problem is NOT with the shifter; just the lights, if that is correct.

    Probably not a big problem.

But unless you live in a location where getting to the dealership or a dealership is a big problem I'd still report the problem and let them fix it. Things like that are more or less exactly why new cars come with a new car warranty.

I must be the only one who likes the big back headrests, I don't get it, they really don't block your vision.

How can you possibly tell me that you can see through the headrests?

I see very well through the back middle of the window, the two outside corners are seen with my left and right mirrors, not an issue at all. The designers at Toyota must not think its an issue either!

Toyota America didn't think so... the rest of the world doesn't agree. It's the lawyers. I would rather not have blind spots. ;)

North American cars got the big headrests. Japan and I believe Australia got the small ones. Not sure about Europe.

I think you are free to like the head rests, but yeah...they block your vision.

The fact that you can use your mirrors to see the area they are blocking? Doesn't change the fact that those huge motherin' head rests are blocking quite a bit of vision directly out the back.

Since I think it is quite possible today to design integrated head rests that can be kept more flush with the back of the seats, while not a HUGE issue, I think it is an area Toyota could improve. My 2010 Honda Fit had rear seat head rests that could be kept pushed down, more or less even with the top of the seat backs. View out the back unimpeded by giant headrests. Toyota COULD do this, and I hope in the future they do.

On my standard Prius, I keep my headrests folded forward all the time....unless I have passengers in the back.

Sure, the mirrors work, but in driving? I want as much visibility as possible all the time. If I avoid just one wreck, one time, because I happen to see a vehicle out the back, that I wouldn't of seen had the head rests been in place, then keeping them folded forward was worth it.

It's not a deal breaker or fatal flaw, but I clearly think rear headrest design in the Prius Family...could be better.
