It's Easter and Puzzle Time

The Easter Rabbit looked at his list and saw that Carol, Jonny and Chris were scheduled to get an equal number of chocolate eggs out of 25. “What moron made this schedule out?†the Easter Bunny exclaimed. “3 doesn’t go into 25! Hmmph..†Checking his notes, the Easter Rabbit saw that these three kids had been extra good even though they’d been stood up by the Great Pumpkin last year. “That settles it!†the Easter Bunny grinned, “I’ll give ‘em a few extra!†So he hid 10 eggs in each of the sleeping children’s rooms, got back on his Harley and took off for the next stop.

But at the next stop the Easter Rabbit discovered he’d overdone his generosity, and wouldn’t have enough eggs left to finish his deliveries. “Blast!†he swore, or words to that effect. “I’ll have to go back.â€

He raced his Harley back to Carol, Jonny and Chris’s house, coasting in the last mile and a half to avoid waking up the kids. Fortunately, Carol, Jonny and Chris were still deep into dreamland, on adventures with Captain Kidd and Santa Claus. The Easter Rabbit retrieved one egg apiece from each kid, got back onto his Harley and sped back onto his route with a triumphant blast of exhaust (which woke the kids but now it didn’t matter).

At the last stop the Easter Bunny was still short the 2 extra eggs he’d left with the kids, so he bought a couple chocolate eggs at a 7-11, finished his delivery, and rode home thinking about the various ways he would fire his incompetent scheduler.

What really bothered him was the math. He’d given those 3 kids 30 eggs to start with, but wound up giving them 27. Then he had to buy 2 eggs because he’d left the 2 extras with the kids. But 27 + 2 = 29! Somewhere he’d lost an egg! But where?
