Thought I'd never get a chance to own a Prius, they're not discounted and used are not much less than new, especially the dealer certified. I was happy with mileage in the 20's and have had Hondas since '85. When I got 300,000 miles on the '95 Odyssey and the AC quit, I traded for an MDX, 19mpg and premium fuel got old really quick. Traded for a '10 Mazda5 back in March, averaged 28mpg till the last of Sept. and was really happy with the mileage and the car was a fun car to drive. Put new Michelin MXV4s on Tues. and on Sat. the wife fell asleep and hit a concrete abutment and ripped out the under side of the car, repair estimate $15,400 so ins totaled it. When we got the Mazda, I really wanted a Honda Fit, but drove and liked the little van. Last week the wife and I went car shopping with a list, 2010 Prius, 2012 Honda Fit Sport, and 2012 Mazda5. We hit the Toyota dealer first and drove three different Certified 2010s and we both knew that we liked the car and REALLY liked the 51/48, so we drove away with a Barcelona Red w/42,000 miles with 4 new Assurance Fuel Max tires and 11.9 gal of gas. Just like McDonalds, we got away with change back from the settlement check. The only down side, all I want to do now is go somewhere. :D:D Searching Ebay for center caps and a few other goodies, and off to the tint man this week. Stock photo, but some of the real thing later.

Thanks guy, watched the DVD and read the manual, doing a lot of reading here and learning a lot. I think my 12v battery is good, left the dome lights on all night and didn't notice till after I started it this morning.

The $15400 was the estimate to repair, ins coughed up $19842, the Prius was $17,650 so still a little left after TTL.

I did that with one of the map lights (front driver reading light) the other night. Car started right up, hopefully it didn't drain the 12V too much overnight. Not to worried about it though, my daily commute is 5 miles each way, so I can always hitch a ride if need be.
