Japan hit by 8.9 earthquake w/tsunami

    Happened about an hour ago. Tv shows tsunami sweeping inland as cars drive down coastal highway. I pray for them and wish all well, doesn't look good.

    Reports of tsunami sweeping over 60 miles inland video shows flaming debris sweeping through farms and villages as people come outside to see what's going on. Another quake over 7.4 just struck. Quake was close to shore many didn't get warning in time.

    Talking head seismologist says he's never seen anything like this and is a MAJOR MAJOR earthquake. Holy crap, tsunami watch in Hawaii for 3am, still no determination for US coastline.

    I'm watching a huge oil refinery or chemical plant go up in flames. Much video of tsunami sweeping away farms, overpasses, bridges and people. Many shots of people caught in homes.

    13-30 ft tsunami warning going out to the entire pacific. The video of cars being driven along the road and then just simply swept off the road is just heart rending.

    Holy crap! I turned my TV to CNN and see what you're talking about in what looks like a farming community. It seems like even big rigs got caught in the wave and there's a ton of debris being swept along.

    I don't see how the death toll can't go into the thousands, talking heads are saying the same thing. PM of Japan has reported that some nuclear power plants shut down so far no leaks. Massive power outages across Japan. First reports of deaths now coming in.

    They just sounded the tsunami warning sirens as a test and to let everybody know there is a tsunami warning upgrade from a watch earlier.

    They are saying the tsunami was only 13 ft in Japan, but man looking at those vids it sure looks a lot bigger. One hundred to two hundred foot fishing vessels swept into town.

    Entire coast from Alaska to Mexico under tsunami alert, 3am for Hawaii and 6-7 am US.
