I ended up getting the CC3. Looks like these QLED headunits just came out the past few months. They're all pretty similar and companies put their own branding and software.

I do have small issues with the Teyes I have. Mainly that I can't adjust the month format on the notification bar (stuck as Day_Month), and temperature remains in Celsius. Little things really. I don't use any of the Teyes software and only got it because of the specs.

I hate the Teyes layout and just use my own skin. I just didn't like how the main home screen was layed out. Also, my front aftermarket camera doesn't work (it did on the Ownice) but maybe because the Teyes is supposed to use AHD cameras and mine was the regular 720p (for the front).

I mainly use it for waze, and radio. And now I started doing Lyft and can run the app straight from the headunit. I really dont want all the extra features of Teyes and wish I could just install a clean android 10 UI but don't know how to go about it at all

Whatever you choose, definitely get one with the QLED. At night, the screen looks less gray and much much better 20210316_181032.jpeg 20210316_180947.jpeg 20210316_180933.jpeg 20210316_175113.jpeg 20210209_183657.jpeg

Thanks for this, this is great. It seems that these brands are just rebranding and customizing a FYT OEM model. The thing I'm torn about now is that the ownice has the wireless carplay built in, but the TEYES CC3 does not currently. TEYES is releasing a new firmware soon according to here (use google translate) that may add it in.

    Teyes

6.Added CAR LINK software which supports Android Auto via wired connection as well as Car Play via wired and wireless connection. Please note that CARPLAY only supports this feature on CC3 devices released in 2021. Android Auto has no limits. For CARPLAY wired connection, you need to use the original iPhone USB cable. When using CARPLAY wirelessly, make sure the mobile phone is connected via Bluetooth.

TEYES seems to be more active and popular in the modding community and I can find a lot on it, but not much on the Ownice k6 plus variant of it.

What is the resolution of that head unit? 720p?

I agree. Teyes has their own website, Facebook page, and you can text them on Whatsapp. I see their name pop up more on the android forums so I went with them. I actually received the wrong harness but when I contacted them on whatsapp, they were able to sort me out within a few hours. Just had to wait 2 weeks to receive it due to standard shipping.

The CC2 Plus I believe is almost the same thing but doesn't have the gyroscope builtin (which is just for the goofy display of the car accelerating and turning lol) and the built in fan (which they claim isn't rewlly needed since these units don't overheat. But they still included it as a feature on the CC3 due to customer feedback)

I have never used Android auto or car play but I can understand how that feature may sway you one way or another.

Thanks, I just found your post in the XDA thread :D

I'll wait a little longer for them to confirm wireless carplay in the "2021" models before going with the TEYES then, The ownice has a sale right now, but looks like TEYES is better in terms of support

Yeah. I haven't checked that thread in a while. You saw my minor gripes there but I'm happy with it.

Thank you for the info on this. I'm thinking of getting one, I purchased a Seicane unit and it's a total POS. One question - how was the installation? did they give a plug and play wiring harness? And did you get the stock backup cam to work?
