    Hi!
Just paid off our 2013 Prius persona model. It's generally my wife's vehicle. We really love it. Been a perfect vehicle for us. Has about 71000 miles so far. Nary an issue!
We have had it since brand new off the lot.
Leased for 3 years. Then bought it out and paid it off as quickly as I could stomach it. :)

Keep it another 4~5 years, start a fund for the next vehicle: it's really nice to just cut a check, bypass finance.

Yeah, I am hoping for at least 5 years sans payment. We are driving considerably less miles now too, so that should hopefully add to it's lifespan. We are pretty good with servicing everything on time and at the dealership.

In 5 years the car will only be 9 years old by my math. Maybe we can get more life out of it than that too. There are many older toyota's still in good service that are 15-20 years old. Now that would be great.

This is really good advice. I did this 3 cars ago. And starting with the Prius was the first car I could've paid with cash instead of financing. I'm already paid off on my next car but this Prius refuses to die. I'm going to keep saving and see if lifestyle creep doesn't get me in a Tesla before this Prius croaks.

Maybe you'll replace the outlander first ;).

    Maybe with a HyHi(y).

Same school of thought here; driving this prius all the way into the ground. Or if I get hit by another USPS vehicle and title becomes salvage again.

The Tesla is really the only car I am interested in now. It's funny. I was always a car guy as long as I can remember. Now I am only interested in hybrid & ev models. I want more!

You can be a car guy and be interested in hybrid and EV models. Take a look at me for example. I still want my Corvette to burn rubber. It just makes no sense to drive a loud, cramped, unreliable, gas guzzler on my 1 hour commute to work. But on the weekends on 2 lane mountain roads in a tunnel? Oh yeah! Now we're talking! And all paid with cash? Oh man, that's car guy nirvana right there! I got a few more years to eek out this Prius before I can afford this dream.

I suppose that is true. In my experience, I am less interested in gasoline powered and carbon based vehicles. I really love the idea of full ev cars and hope the prices come down in the next 5-10 years where we can move away from gas.

    Aren't we all carbon based?
