Just "downsized" from a 4Runner to my new Prius and I must say I LOVE IT! Picked it up yesterday with 7 miles on the odo! Cannot believe the technology in that vehicle.

Any suggestions/comments for a newbie? (aside from "you have to step on the brake pedal when starting")

Welcome to the community - lots, lots, and lots of great information here. I certainly can't give you any tips on how to drive that you can't find right here - but one natural tendency that the new Prius driver has is to use "B" to help you brake. Yes, it's called an engine brake, but it wastes electricity generating opportunities. Also, go ahead and put 42/40 pounds in your tires - you'll not sacrifice much cush with that - Some go way higher, but you really sacrifice some comfort. It's a great car - congratulations IrwPrius!:clap2:
