    Hello,

After months of research on Prius Chat, I finally picked up a Super White, 08 Prius w/ Package 2 on 10/5. This would be my daily driver for work and so far with 80 miles, the MPG results are 51.1.

I don't know if it's me, but the buttons on the steering wheel seem to be very dim, almost like they don't even light up. I thought the dimmer switch on the side would be able to adjust, but didn't have much luck.

    Pictures will shortly come.

    Congrats on your new Prius!

Dial them all the way up until you feel a click, I think, to brighten them unless it's different than the '07. I assume you mean at night, correct? I usually go by feel on the steering wheel buttons - you will too once you get used to where each control is located.

The owners manual has all the answers, but you're probably to excited driving around to stop long enough to read it. Have you found the secret compartment yet?

Congrats! As far as your steering wheel buttons go, that's as bright as they get, unless they changed it in '08. You'll get used to it though.. Congrats again!

Thanks for the responses. I quickly scanned through it, but driving around has been very fun and relaxing.

Is it really a secret? It's got its own thread.

Thanks ! I had a hard time picking a color, plus I only had 3 color choices ( White, Silver, Dark Gray) to choose from.

If the secret compartment is the front tray that slides out on the front center arm rest console, then it took me 3 days to finally find it.

Oh, if you want to know ANYTHING, do a google search with "site:priuschat.com" after the term, (no quotes), like "secret drawer site:priuschat.com" ... that works the best ;)

It's hard to digest 500 pages of user guide... I'm still not done. I agree with the steering wheel button illumination. Too dim. I've read many complaints about that here, and, correct me if I am wrong please, I'm under the impression nothing can be done about it.

You are correct. At least for now.

Hobbit keeps threatening to hack a fix. If it involves taking 6 covers of of things, I have no doubt he will do it.

    Hey Doc,

Did he get your EV button working for you? I PM'd him but I guess he's too busy hacking something to answer me.

PS Got my SG II - love it!
