I think this trumps the OJ case, she was convicted and is out already. Right or wrong OJ was never convicted of anything.

He was found guilty of "wrongful death" in the civil case.
He's a murderer regardless of whether the criminal investigation and prosecution were botched.
    He's also free.

The ruling Minority government - the Liberals - just lost a Non Confidence vote. In effect, Parliment is dissolved and we head to the polls very soon.

There are many Hot Buttons for this sudden winter election, most involving trade relations with the United States (Softwood lumber, cattle, energy, etc), but crime is near the front of the list.

Still, it's not like we have to cower under the covers at night worrying about loose rounds.

I think a very unknown factor in this election is how Canadians will vote. Issues like Iraq and Missile Defense are still things that cause bad feelings. If the Progressive Conservatives snag a Minority, relations with the U.S. will improve. If the Liberals snag another Minority, relations will continue as they have now.

If a combination of NDP and Bloc Quebecois form a coalition government, expect them to use energy as a bargaining tool. In other words, expect "unanticipated" electricity and natural gas interruptions this winter.

You don't need to go to Canada to see this....lot's of our cases trump this...at least she did spend 12 yrs in prison. This story is tame in my book.

Why would they want to do that? What is it they want?

Not ONLY that, but they have her on video tape...

I agree, she trumps OJ. Besides the whole OJ case involves 2, she was involved in what, at least 4?

    I disagree.
One, two, ten years from now we'll all still remember OJ and his murders.
    I've already forgotten her name.

What they want is more influence on a global scene, to get out of the one-sided NAFTA, and to have the ability to sell resources at market rates, not rates dictated by the United States.

The Liberal government has already made token steps in that direction. For example, many Americans are counting on the vast Tar Sands deposits in Northern Alberta to meet future energy needs.

Last year the Liberal government approved a majority ownership of the Tar Sands by a Chinese state-owned oil company.

Considering that Canada is the largest single source of your crude imports, electricity imports, and natural gas imports, your attitude will go over like a brick s***house to most Canadians.

I'm now hoping a radical coalition government gets in and makes good on their threat to have "unforeseen" supply interruptions.
