A few months ago I checked the KBB value of my 2006 Prius and it was valued at over $18,000. I just checked now and it is valued at $15,000. Is this because the new 2012 models came out? This seems like WAYYY too much of a decrease, and the '07 and '08 models aren't really any higher than $15k. What happened?? It has nothing to do with the mileage, options or zip code.

A few months ago there were NO new Prii (Earthquake/Tsunami) available so used prices were artificially high. That bubble is over.

Who knows, if gas keeps going the way it's going, those prices may get up there again.

gas goes up ---> prius value goes up

gas goes down or stablizes ----> priuses drop in value

all part of supply vs demand
