My 2005 key fob battery is only lasting 25-30 days. Is that normal? I keep it in a separate pocket from my cell, but sit with it only about 3 feet from a computer. I also made a plastic sleeve so the lock/unlock panic buttons won't be pushed inadvertently by other things in my pocket. Any ideas?

Definitely not normal. My 2005 fob is still on it's original battery!

    Four years.

When did it start eating batteries? Presumably you haven't been replacing it every month for four years... Did anything else happen to the car or change in your life around the same time this started?

You were careful to replace the original with the same or equivalent type?

How far from the car do you keep the keyfob when parked?

The keyfob also needs to be kept away from florescent lighting which can generate RF energy.

I have replaced mine once after three years. I keep it in my pocket in a leather case that fits perfectly OR in my fannypack. If you keep other loose stuff in your pockets/purse they could be triggering the FOB. NO, 25-30 days is quite abnormal!
