I have a 2005 Pruis and the remote entry does not work. Changed the battery in the remote and I still have to put the remote key in slot to start the car. Been working fine for ten years. Thoughts. Thanks

Does the red light on the fob blink when you push the buttons? You might have a stuck button. The rubber caps get brittle and don't release sometimes.

Check that your key button under the steering wheel is off (out). So that keyless system is on. If it’s, try putting it in and then back out.

Do you have another remote ?
It is possible that your new battery is bad......or that it is not making good contact.
