Hey guys. I know there's quite a lot of threads about this issue. My Prius v it is still a lowercase v for the Prius v wagon, not an uppercase. Only the 2010 Prius used uppercase Roman numerals for model designation is making knocking or rattling noise every morning before I go to work. Sometimes it happens other times it doesn't. Was there ever a initial fix from Toyota on this problem? Is it something I really need to worry about? The temperature here right now only gets low of 30 degrees right now in the morning. It's similar to issue here.

Important to note that most who report experiencing the knock/rattle-at-startup do not experience it regularly, purely a rare anomaly.

I've had it occur once in five years with the 2012 v Five, and that was very early on when I inadvertently cycled the START button through start-ready-off-restart, likely resulting in leftover unburned fuel in the intake.

And thus if it is happening almost every morning, it should be checked out.
Starting with pulling the dipstick and checking the oil level. ;)
