I'm considering purchasing a reconditioned HVB for my recently purchased/toasted '05 from a Los Angeles area biz calling itself:
    "PriusPower"
    Anybody heard of them? Experiences?
    $495 w/6month warranty
    $695 w/12month.
    (Additional $400/core charge, if applicable).
They will deliver free within LA area.
Tempted, but obviously a warranty means nothing if the product is inferior to begin with.
    Time and hassle=$$$.

    Anyone?
    Thanks.

If the 05 has low miles, just buy a new battery. Refurbished batteries will not be reliable

A new battery with NEW cells is around $3,000 installed. Give or take a few hundred dollars.

So when I hear you can buy a battery pack for $509 to $600, common sense says "sounds too good to be true".

If you don't need a relaible car and only drive very short distances from home or your mechanic then maybe a USED battery at this price makes sense.

Because the USED battery will fail wyears before a NEW one ever will.

    Buyer beware.
    Trust your gut.
