Does anyone know why there is a small round circle on the drivers side front bumper? Maybe toyota had some plans for it and never removed it.

It should be on the rear bumper so you can tow things...like H2's that have run out of gas!
    :p

Why? We don't need to waste more gas towing them around if they can't haul themselves around hehe. We'll use it as a playground.

    Hi All,

I have not had a reason to use it yet, but I read inthe manual that under the little circle is the socket for the recovery hook. The recovery hook is where the tow truck would attach a cable to pull the car out of a ditch.

But how to remove that cover? The manual says "insert the eyelet..." without telling me how to do step 1.

A credit card, small knife, or small suction cup will work.

Yeah, I had to do that for the tow-truck guy when my Prius was totaled because he had no clue how to tow it. Grabbed the hook thing from the back, popped out that little circle of plastic (and put it in my pocket--now that's the only reminder I have of my first Prius), and screwed the tow hook into the socket.

Actually I have heard from a reliable source that it is for installing the bolt so as to be able to hang up your Prius to dry after hand washing.
