    Hi everyone,

I am looking to buy 2011 Prius 5, preferably without any add-ons. Anyone can recommend a dealership they used or know that would offer good deal? The few I looked at in my area want at least the sticker price or mare and will not negotiate.

I live in Illinois, but would be willing to travel for a great deal.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

    Sophie

Welcome! With things like they are in Japan, don't expect much less than MSRP at this time. The incentives are drying up.

With that said, let your fingers to the typing and go to the dealer websites (internet sales) and get the quotes.

The Prius 5 is loaded with just about all the extras. So it is going to cost you top dollar. The highest volume is in the 2's and 3's so they don't deal on the high end models. I would try to deal through the Web and cut out the floor salesman. Good Luck

    Thanks guys.

So I got one on order from the factory. I ended up paying $28,644 for 2011 Prius 5 base without any add-ons. I went thru AAA site and found a local participating dealer. They could not find that particular model without any packages in the entire midwest region (confirmed by multiple dealers I called), and so they had to custom order.

They said it could take 3 months to get it here form Japan.

Interestingly, they did not include $500 mfg rebate as of yet, saying that it only applies at the time I drive the car off the dealership, not at the time of order???? Is that really so? They said they will add any incentives that would be available at the time I pick up the car (current one expires on 4/4/11).

Do you think this is a decent deal?
Do you agree with their mfg rebate policy? Is that really so?

    Again, thanks for the input.

I would assume they are correct. The rebate is applied based on the date of purchase.

If you're willing to travel, I suggest you use the web to get a list of dealers and start sending email quotes. You'll soon find the players.
