After browsing and waiting and calculating costs for years I think I've finally found two Prius where I can justify the purchase.

    1. 2008 Prius Package 4, 100,000 mi. $10,000. Private party. All service records. Excellent shape.
    2. 2010 Prius II. 35,000 mi. $14,900. Dealership. Was a lease.

I'm leaning towards the Gen 3 at this point.

Any suggestions or things I should be aware of? Hoping to make the purchase this weekend.

Also how would I find an Ind Prius specialist in my area for a prepurchase inspection?

You're not really comparing Oranges to Oranges here. Even if it is Prius to Prius.

One vehicle is near 6 model years old, with 100,000 miles on it.

The other is a whole "next" generation, costing nearly $5,000 more, and with 35,000 miles on it.

I suppose the easy answer is that "If" I could afford the extra $4,900 and the vehicle of course passed all the evaluation standards....I'd want either vehicle checked out, then I would easily choose the newer vehicle with far less miles.
