low fuel...add fuel indications

    7 month old '07 with 7100 miles. All is perfect. I'm wondering what to expect from the display after the blinking pip. I've read here that there will be a beep as soon as the blinking starts. I've had it blink several times and don't remember a beep. Is there a warning light that comes on if you get down to the last few ounces of fuel?

    Sometimes there is a little hacking just before the major warning lights come on and the car transitions to electric mode. I typically find a safe place to refuel and add a gallon. This is not a warning, it is how my car runs out of gas.

    You will get an add-fuel warning on the MFD, but there is no good reason to ever let the fuel get that low.

    qbee42...I agree. I haven't and I won't. What about the beep? Is there one?

    My experience (in my '05) is that it will beep as soon as the light starts blinking. At the same time, a message comes up on the MFD that says something along the lines of "Add Fuel." I don't know about the '07, but in the '05 there is no intermediate step between the flashing pip and being stuck by the side of the road.
