I have the Pirelli 17's now. Has anybody done any investigating on better economy 17's? I looked at the threads regarding this, but these tires I have are clearly performance tires. From what I understand, LRR, are not performance tires. I am starting to babble now, so I will quit typing. :)

I'm certain there are 17 inch, LRR tires. The primary issue (AFAIK) is that there are no 17s with 175 or 185 mm tread width (stock sizes). A 205 mm tread width on a 17 inch wheel with a LRR tire might get you back to stock 2006 RR losses. However, I don't have RR data on a stock 2006 Prius to compare against.

Then there's tire & wheel weight to consider.

I was looking at the size, and they are 215's. The treadwear is 400. I guess a LRR type of tire in that size would be harder like 700-800. The more I think about it, as you pointed out, the width if the tire is what contributes to the RR. "It is what it is", unless I want a skinny tire, and that takes away the performance. One has to compromise somewhere. :) Thanks for the reply.
