I can not delete the "Maintenance Required" screen to reset the oil change. Is there any way to do it?
In my owners' manual those instructions are toward the back under a heading like "after changing the engine oil". Have you followed those steps, or tried to?
That's what happens when your ignore the "maintenance required" message during startup. It becomes a semi-permanent fixture about 500 - 1000 miles beyond it's due service. The first iteration of that lamp lights up 500 miles before it's actually due, to give you time to make an appointment for service. Hope this helps......
that's what happened and now I can't perform the oil change reset procedure because I can't change the odometer screen to trip A screen....my trip and display buttons are not functioning I can't follow those steps because the frozen screen doesn't let me change from odometer screen to trip A screen
I would guess you need to replace the clock spring to get the trip/display button to work. (You could also try pressing the button as you turn the steering wheel.) Have you tried doing the other steps of the reset procedure, skipping the trip A step (i.e. press and hold the km/h button while pressing the start button, with foot off brake)?
Last I checked, you need to be on the main odometer screen to reset it; NOT trip-A. I made that mistake with my old Prius C and spent an hour banging my head against the wall.... Hope this helps...
In my 2010 gen 3 it's TRIP A. That's why I really suggested looking in the owners' manual, in case the details might be different between years or models.
Yep; that's what my manual stated too - but that didn't work. This DID... Made notes in my maintenance log and never had an issue since. Note: DO NOT RELEASE the trip button during the count-down; otherwise it won't clear. FWIW, mine was a 2012 Prius C. My current ge4 is way easier to reset.
