    *yawn* *mumble*

Merry Christmas! Gotta drive (an hr.) to Oakland to pick up college-attending daughter at airport.

Probably today no one will post, "Help, picked up my '06, poor MPG", huh?

I spent the end of the week at my in-laws 8.5 hours away. My wife wanted to drive so she drove her Regal. Got back home this evening. Averaged 26MPG overall. It's no Prius, but it rides like a Barc-o-lounger.

Nice day at home, with the family, drinking spiced egg-nog, a really good Cab, eating until I was sure I was going to be sick, then watching football from 4pm on....
Is that rubbing it in??!!

Fortunately my wife was off too (a pediatrician) so it was a good day. Considering we were both working Thanksgiving Day this is our little reward.

Back to the trenches tomorrow afternoon though... <_<

Yep my wife (Hospice nurse) worked days today. The kids cooked and we both got dinner together and with the kids. Not a bad day all in all. We both got Thanksgiving off so it is all fair and someone has to do it.

tomorrow's a DUMC holiday. i am SO not going in to lab tomorrow. i'll take any excuse i can get.

yeah i know, i'm not a medical person but i do work on the medical center division of campus... i'm one building away from the hospital... and surrounded by anesthesiologists all day if that counts for something

hey, i even got invited into the OR sometime, though i won't take him up on it because i'm leaving this lab. don't think i could do it without passing out though.

okay enough rambling. not on call.

Nope. We spent he day at my parents house and let the kids play with all the new toys they got. My son is still up playing with them and it's after 11:30! Did I mention he's not quite three? Where does he get the energy?

Maybe he knows about dad stockpiling all those mods and putting them on his beloved vehicles. :)

My wife had to work Christmas day (Fire/EMS dispatch). Went to church with my mother...son and daughter hung with us for awhile...wife came home and back to evening services we went. Now here I am up a 4am and can't sleep.

It is hard to get too much into Christmas when, for the past 26 yrs, Christmas was a work day for my wife, me , or both of us. Crime and illness NEVER take a holiday.
