Metal part came off

    This thin piece of metal came off the bottom of my car. I heard a loud scraping noise while I was driving through a parking lot and it was hanging off the bottom of my car. Does this need to be reattached right away?

    It's an exhaust heat shield. As long as you're not driving through tall dry grass, you'll be fine.

    Specifically, that's the shield that sits under the catalytic converter, at the rear of the engine undertray.

    And the fasteners might be item 11, same page, not sure. Dealership parts department should be able to nail it.

    I think all you need is a few replacement fasteners. Check where it attaches first: there might be fasteners in place still? Actually looks like you've got one, in your picture.
